Practical tips for your first visit
- Arrive 30 minutes early. Doors close when the music starts; latecomers usually wait until the interval.
- Cloakroom: coats and large bags go to the cloakroom — bring only a small clutch to your seat.
- Subtitles: most seats have a small personal screen with subtitles; English is one of the languages.
- Shoes: there are many marble stairs. A block heel or elegant flats are kinder than stilettos.
- Winter: the house is warm inside — wear the dress, bring a coat or a faux-fur stole for the way there.
- Interval: the foyers fill with people having a glass of Sekt. This is when outfits are noticed most.
